Arrive Memorial Day Monday, May 27, 2024 - Depart Friday, May 31.
Four Nights - Five Days at The Grand Hotel in Fairhope, Alabama on the Gulf Shore.
Includes 4 dinners, 4 breakfasts, 2 rounds of Robert Trent Jones Jr. Golf and more.
The Grand Hotel
Since opening its doors in 1847, the Grand Hotel’s identity has been inextricably linked with a proud heritage as a social host and a vital part of military service. Originally built as a two-story building with 40 rooms, guests originally traveled to the Grand Hotel by steamboats and docked at what is now the Marina. Over the years the resort and its reputation grew, with the hotel guest list boasting an impressive array of world dignitaries and celebrities.
From its strategic location on Mobile Bay, the Grand has also played a pivotal role in defending our nation as a vital military staging site as well as its ties to American freedom spanning two centuries and two wars. Standing as a hospital during the Civil War and later as host to key training operations during World War II, this is hallowed ground. It was here, on the sands of Point Clear, where Allied forces' finest trained in Operation Ivory Soap, a classified military operation that played a vital part in World War II’s final push. Each day, the Grand Hotel honors its wartime history, concluding with a cannon firing on the edge of Mobile Bay.
From American presidents to world leaders to stars of movies and music, to generations of patriots, the Grand will eternally be revered as a national destination, rich in history – a hotel that embodies the best traditions of this country.

3/11/24 Update: We originally had two (2) rounds of optional golf, first one on May 30th and second one on May 31. We will have only one (1) round of optional golf and that will be on Thursday, May 30. This change was made to the event website this day.
ATTENDEES: SEE THE "CHAT WITH OTHERS" LINK ON THE LEFT SIDE. USE THIS TAB TO CONNECT WITH OTHERS COMING TO THE EVENT IF YOU NEED A RIDE FROM THE AIRPORT, LOOKING FOR A ROOMMATE, ETC.
We used to call this page the FORUM page but it's essentially a place where attendees can post questions, offer to be a roommate, or announce that you're looking for a roommate, etc. Just click on the link below and post something . . . then keep checking back to see if you have an answer.
Courses. We'll play these two courses: the Robert Trent Jones Dogwood course and the Azalea course. Each course is about a mile from the Hotel and the Hotel will provide a shuttle to get us to the courses each day at no charge.
Also, you can play an optional round on Thursday, May 30 at 9am, either on the Azalea or Dogwood course (TBD) at Lakewood Golf, a RTJones property. Cost is $169.00.
Golf Play Format. For our package rounds, we will play "real golf," utilizing those little-known rules we call the USGA Rules of Golf. You'll play your own ball, not someone else's. So we ask that you become a bit familiar with these USGA Rules of Golf.
Prizes. First and second place team prizes will be awarded for each package round. Prizes are awarded based on the best two (2) net balls of each foursome as well as proximity markers on all par 3's. Winners will be announced at Thursday's award's dinner. ASGA $25 Prize Certificates will be awarded to the winners which are good towards your annual dues, another ASGA National-sponsored multi-chapter event such as this one, or an ASGA logo'd golf shirt.
Golf Club Storage. The Grand Hotel - Golf Resort & Spa has agreed to store your golf clubs between rounds and have them sitting on your cart for your next day of play AFTER THE FIRST PACKAGE ROUND ONLY. On your final day, remember to take your clubs back to the hotel. This does not pertain to any rounds of golf play off-resort or optional day unless you specifically request club movement to the golf course staff.
ASGA reserves the right to modify the tee time schedule based on the number of players as we get closer to the event. Handicaps may be adjusted according to course rating.

What happens to your money if you can't make it? In most cases, it's already been sent to the venues and is not refundable under the contract. In reality, sometimes we may be able to get some of your money back. The first question we ask is "did you purchase travel insurance?" Then we ask you to file through your travel iinsurance company.
Otherwise, we'll try to "go to bat" on your behalf, but first, to make that happen, we will need IN WRITING, either something from your doctor's office to verify that you cannot make this trip just to let us know you simply didn't change your mind and found something else to do. Or if it's travel related, the same applies, we need some proof of why you could not travel to the event. Our contracts with courses and hotels are typically pretty strict so please don't set your mind to the idea that everything will work out in your favor. But we'll try.
A few years ago, two people were planning to travel together. One person got sick and the other (healthy) person wanted to bow out because they were close friends. We cannot help you there; no refund for you unless you find someone to travel with. Otherwise, travel insurance may help you.
Daily Resort Activities including Horseshoes, Croquet, Ping Pong, Beach Volleyball, Ladder Ball, Corn Hole, Bayside Putting Green, Scavenger Hunt, as well as Daily Arts and Crafts; Fishing poles and bait at Fleischer Pier daily; non-motorized beach equipment and watercrafts (kayaks, pedal-boats, hydro bikes, & paddleboards), seasonal
