IMPORTANT:  We have reserved 85 rooms for our three peak nights (Sun/Mon/Tues).  You can register at any time, however, when we fill-up the block we have reserved, we will seek to add more rooms, but there is no guarantee rooms will be available as the public will be reserving rooms during this time period as well. So please don't assume you can wait until the last minute to register.

GOT A ROOMMATE? And if you know you'll have a roommate, please get both of your registrations submitted at the same time, otherwise, you might be charged the room-by-yourself rate.

THE PACKAGES

Included in all packages is the following:

  • Three (3) nights' stay at the Embassy Suites Riverwalk by Hilton
  • Two (2) rounds of golf: The Club at Sonterra and Canyon Springs
  • Six food functions: Three (3) breakfasts and three (3) dinners.
  • Manager's reception each evening (from 5:30-7:30) off or near the hotel lobby with beer, wine, cocktails/beverages (open to all hotel guests).  
  • Welcome gift, Program and Pairings Guide, Nametags, ASGA Prize Certificates for winners of competitions  
  • All taxes and/or fees

DO YOU RENT A CAR?  That is up to you, however, think about this: you'll likely fly in to San Antonio (SAT airport). From there, you could take an Uber, Lyft or even a taxi and get to the hotel. (Share that cost if you are with another ASGA member.) Once you're at the hotel, you'll check in and likely not need a car your first day at all. We'll have dinner that night, then head to the golf course the next day (Monday) around noon. GROUP TRANSPORTATION (i.e. motorcoach) WILL BE PROVIDED TO THE PACKAGE COURSES only, not the optional rounds.

After our round of golf on Monday afternoon, we'll have dinner at the golf course's clubhouse, then you'll take the motorcoach back to the hotel. The next day, Tuesday, motorcoach to the course for our 9 am shotgun. Then you're back at the hotel. You're on your own in the afternoon and we'll have our awards dinner Tuesday evening at a restaurant walkable from the hotel. The following day we depart.

If you're playing one of the optional rounds of golf (day of arrival (Oct. 30) or day of departure (Nov. 2), you "may" need a car or you could share a ride with another member and chip-in on some gas money if you'd like. We suggest Uber/Lyft and sharing the ride with a friend.

PARKING: There is a parking fee if you park at the Embassy Suites parking deck, however, we understand there are some nearby parking lots that are not covered and may not have the level of security that the hotel has.

UPON ARRIVAL: You may leave your golf clubs in your car if you have one. You may also ask the bell captain if you can leave your clubs at the bell stand storage room (subject to space availability). Or, you can bring them to your room. In any case, be sure to take your clubs with you as you leave to the golf courses. They won't deliver themselves.

EMBASSY SUITES ROOM-BY-YOURSELF PACKAGE - $1,289.00

 

Airfare is NOT INCLUDED in any package.  See the "Getting There" link on left for airport information and the hotel address.  To get to the hotel, you may have to take an UBER or LYFT or TAXI to get to the hotel unless you rent a car.

Some members may rent a car during their stay at this event. At the registration table, we'll have a "Need-A-Ride / Give-A-Ride" form so you can ask to ride with someone. There are NO GUARANTEES. You may not need a car as there will be group transportation via motor coach for (only) our two main rounds of golf.

We'll also have the FORUM button set-up on this site where you can communicate with other attendees and set-up a ride-share to the airport via taxi or Uber.

The Embassy Suites Riverwalk by Hilton + Extra Nights at Discounted Rates

Our hotel is the building to the right in this photo. It sits right on the riverwalk. All of our rooms will be suites.

 
All of our rooms at the hotel are "run of house,"  ROH gets us a great group rate. Included with each suite is a wet bar, microwave, sofa bed, minifridge and coffee maker.

If you wish to stay up to two (2) days before or after this event, the peak season rate for our group will be $298 / night or $149 / night if you have a shared room. Taxes/fees included in this rate.

If you're rooming with someone and you want to stay extra day(s) and they do not, or, if you've requested ASGA to provide you with a roommate and you want to stay extra day(s) by yourself, you are responsible for the room-by-myself rate for those extra night(s).

Golf

 

 

Golf Play Format.  We will play our own ball each day using the USGA Rules of Golf.

Scoring will be based on the two best net balls per foursome per hole. 

 

MONDAY, OCTOBER 31 - THE CLUB AT SONTERRA

On our first day of package golf, we will play the SOUTH COURSE at The Club at Sonterra with a 1pm shotgun. We will take a group photo at 12:40pm.

On Sonterra's South Course, those identifying themselves as men will play the white tees at 5946 yards; likewise, those identifying themselves as ladies will play from the red tees at 5400 yard.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 1 - CANYON SPRINGS GOLF CLUB

On our second day of package golf, we will play Canyon Springs Golf Club for a 9am shotgun.

Need-a-Ride? Can you Give-a-Ride?

If you don't have your own car, ASGA will have a "Need-a-Ride / Give-a-Ride" form at the registration table whereby you can set-up a ride to the various courses if you wish. 

Note that when you register, you'll be asked if you'll have your car or will rent a car for the event. This gives us some idea of how many cars will be available to (possibly) allow someone to ride with you.

 


Competition and Prizes.  For our primary package rounds, prize certificates go to the first and second place team winners. Scoring based on the two (2) best net balls out of each foursome and closest-to-pin competitions on certain par 3s. Scorecards will be dotted. Winners will be announced at our final nights' award's dinner and ASGA $25 Prize Certificates will be awarded. 

Prize Certificates are good toward $25 off your annual ASGA dues, $25 off any upcoming ASGA-National-sponsored multi-chapter event for up to one year later, or an ASGA-logoed golf shirt (incl. shipping). Certificates a bit beyond one year after this event is over and are non-transferrable and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Prize certificates are not valid for ASGA cruises.

Golf Club Storage.   You may leave your golf clubs at the bell stand upon arrival but remember to take them with you each day or leave them in your car. Make sure your name is on your golf bag.  Also, make sure you have your name on each of your clubs. ASGA provides a set of 14 labels as part of your membership fee. If you don't have your name and contact phone on each of your clubs, go here to order a set. Allow 7-10 days for processing. When you leave the hotel to return home, be sure to remember to pack your clubs!  

ASGA or the staff at any of our courses reserve the right to modify the time of play schedule based on the number of players as we get closer to the event. Simply put, if we don't have enough for a shotgun, we do straight tee times. For our package rounds at this event, we will definitely have shotgun starts both days.

Food

If you have a special dietary need, please indicate that on your registration form.*

In all packages, the following will be included:

  • Welcome Dinner on Sunday at 7pm at the Embassy Suites or a nearby restaurant
  • Three (3) breakfasts
  • Two (2) additional dinners (in addition to Sunday's dinner, we'll have a picnic-style second dinner after our first round of package golf. The awards dinner will be on the third night at a local restaurant TBA.  

* Food Allergies and/or Special Dietary Needs:  If you have a special dietary need, e.g. gluten free, meat free, fat-free, pork-free or a nothing burger, etc., you must notify at the time you register. Please DO NOT ask right prior to the food function as there will be no time for the kitchen to take care of your needs. There is a place on the registration form for you to indicate your dietary need. Once we are at a particular venue, it is UP TO YOU to notify the ASGA event leader who you are and that you are a person with the special dietary need. We will not try to find you (thank you!). Because we're in three different dinner venues, we will have to connect you with the host/hostess each night at that venue.

Please be advised that certain functions, such as breakfast or other times when buffets are present, pork (bacon/sausage) may be on display.

Getting To the Embassy Suites by Hilton - San Antonio Riverwalk

If you're driving to this venue, you'll likely have some sort of GPS with you.  So here's their information to put into your system:

If you're flying, you'll want to fly into SAN ANTONIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (CODE: SAT). No shuttle service to the hotel is available, however, we suggest Uber, Lyft or a taxi to get you to the hotel.

PARKING AT EMBASSY SUITES: Self-parking is $39 / night + tax. We don't recommend renting a car as we'll have a motorcoach take us to our golf courses ONLY on the two package rounds of golf, not the optional rounds. On the optional rounds, Uber/Lyft with some fellow golfers and split the cost.

If you do rent a car, consider sharing the cost of a rental car with others in your chapter or friends arriving about the same time at the airport.

Cancellation.  There is a 25% cancellation fee on or prior to 9/30/22.  Absolutely NO refunds after 9/30/22. If your plans change, you can sell your position to another member.  Please do not ask ASGA to sell your position.
