All Members of ASGA are invited to take a

Western Caribbean Cruise!

Key West, Florida     Puerto Costa Maya, Mexico

Cozumel, Mexico     Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

March 24-31, 2018 - Departing Miami

on Celebrity Cruise's Equinox

Are you ready for a winter getaway?  Can you handle the warm weather?  The islands?

A number of ASGA members have expressed their interest in a Caribbean cruise.  Our last ASGA cruise was in 2016 so by the time March rolls around, we know you'll be ready to warm-up.  So we have planned another "ASGA Golf Cruise," a 7-night Western Caribbean cruise vacation, sailing roundtrip from Miami on another Celebrity Cruises' Solstice Class Ship, the Celebrity Equinox.  Landing in the various ports of call shown above, we will be looking at planning up to three golf outings.

See the link at the left (Register for Cruise) which includes a flyer with all the details.  With the Black Friday + Cyber Monday Specials, we didn't want to miss out on this great deal to save up to $300 per person (up to $600 per cabin) + a Beverage Package or $150 per person onboard credit ($300 onboard credit per cabin).

Background

In 2012, 65 ASGA members cruised the Eastern Caribbean and then in 2014 more ASGA members cruised the Western Caribbean.  In 2016, more ASGA members cruised the Eastern Caribbean once again.  ASGA is inviting all members nationwide for a great get-away cruise.

This cruise is being coordinated by Sue Eliasberg with The Cruise Web and also a member of our Washington, DC chapter.  Sue handled our cruises in 2012, 2014 and 2016 and did a great job providing some additional benefits that you would not be able to get on your own.  She has a great relationship with Celebrity Cruise Lines and plans to offer us a very nice trip.

Head to Miami!

We'll be sailing out of Miami, Florida aboard Celebrity Cruises' Celebrity Equinox, another great Celebrity Solstice Class Ship.  We depart on Saturday, March 24th  and return to Miami on the following Saturday, March 31st, the day before Easter.  So join us and enjoy a great winter getaway in the Caribbean with ASGA.

As you will see at the ITINERARY link at left, ports of call include Key West, Florida; Puerto Costa Maya, Mexico; Cozumel, Mexico; and George Town, Grand Cayman, so you can enjoy a range of ports and shore excursion experiences or join us for our special ASGA Golf Outings in the islands -- Cozumel and Grand Cayman.

Tom Cruise

Rounds of golf on this cruise will be optional and an additional charge.  On the registration form, let us know if you are interested in playing golf so we can give the courses a relatively close number of players.  No commitment required at this point, we just need a general idea.

ASGA National President, Tom Alsop, a/k/a Tom Cruise, will be planning up to three days of golf:
  • March 28th in Cozumel, we are looking at Cozumel Country Club an 18-hole Championship Golf Course with a Nicklaus design
  • March 29th in Grand Cayman, we are looking at playing golf at the North Sound Club with panoramic vistas of the Caribbean Sea
  • We are also looking at possibly playing 9 holes at Key West Golf Club in Key West on March 25th.
Cabins

Cabins can be set up with two (2) Separate Beds or one (1) Queen Size Bed.  If you know who your roommate will be you can indicate that on your registration form or you can let us know you're looking for a roommate. If you want a room by yourself, the cabin cost will be higher than the per person rate for double occupancy, as noted on the flyer.  ASGA tries to get everyone a roommate that wants one, which lowers your overall cost, however, as we get closer to the event, you may have to pay the single supplement.  Check with Sue (see below) to determine available, room type, roommate situation, etc.

Register

The flyer shows a deposit date of November 30th, but if you need more time until December 3rd -- let Sue Eliasberg know.  See the link at left (Flyer + Register for Cruise).  If you need additional time to finalize your plans contact Sue, so she can help you see what can be combined for you.

Arrive a Day Early . . . Just in Case!

Plan to arrive in Miami a day early in case there is some sort of airline or traffic delay, and then we will plan to have dinner together on Friday, March 23rd around 7pm, which will be at your own expense.  If you are flying to Florida, when you plan your flight home at the end of the cruise, remember to plan a flight after 12 noon.  If you decide to stay in Florida for an extra day or two or more after the cruise, you can plan a flight at whatever time is good for you.  Remember on March 24th, we want to be at the ship 3-4 hours before sailing.

ASGA Membership Required

You must be a member of the American Singles Golf Association at the time you cruise.  Join or renew your dues today . . . dues are valid for the next 12 months. To join ASGA, go to www.SinglesGolf.com/join

Miscellaneous Links and Important Information

If you plan to cruise with us and have some suggested links to add that others might be interested in, please send them to Tom at this email address.

There are always risks involved with travel, both in the U. S. and internationally.  Some travelers may want to extend their trip, adding days before or after.  In any case, we ask that you visit the SMART TRAVELER ENROLLMENT PROGRAM (STEP), a free service of the U. S. State Department.  You'll need to enroll.  It essentially notifies the State Department that you are out of the countryClick here to go to the STEP website.

One item in particular is that you will need to make certain your passport is good for at least three (3) months after your visit and preferably six (6) month. You may not be allowed to travel if your passport expires 30-45 days after your visit is over.
