June was a fun month for ASGA with two weekend events and two weekday events for our members. We started the month at Arroyo Trabuco on Saturday, May 6, thanks to Rae Ann. We had 12 players for an afternoon round of golf at the great rate of $60. When we found the clubhouse unable to handle us for dinner, John jumped in and found us Selma’s nearby where we all enjoyed a great dinner. Our new member Bill joined us for dinner and found out what a fun golf group we are.

On Tuesday, May 9, four of us lady golfers played in the Tustin Ranch Ladies Day and we won first place for the Hawaiian costume event. Apparently the coconuts put us over the top. Similarly, on Monday, May 15, four of us LA/OC ASGA players participated in an Aliso Viejo Country Club member-for-a-day event. While no prizes were awarded, I believe we won for the most-fun-group. We always love playing these two great courses. Coming up is an SCGA-member event at Seacliff Country Club in Huntington Beach, which Greg has offered to lead a foursome or so. Contact Greg if you want to join him at Seacliff on Monday, June 19 [must be an SCGA Handicap member].

Finishing out May, Jeff hosted us at Industry Hills Ike Course on Saturday, May 27. We had 20 players in this event for the member rate of $90. This course is one of our favorites and it challenged all 20 of us with its length and high slope and rating. The course was in immaculate condition. After golf, the men rearranged the entire patio facility to put the 20 of us in the shade for a fun dinner and drinks party. Many thanks to Jeff for always getting us onto this great venue.

Looking ahead, we have Mile Square on Sunday, June 4, followed by a party at my house to watch an early NBA finals game. Rae Ann then has us back at Arroyo Trabuco on Saturday, June 17, followed by a party at Pam’s to celebrate another ASGA birthday party. John is hosting us at Tustin Ranch on Saturday, July 8. We are at Oak Creek on Saturday, July 15. August takes us to Talega on Sunday, August 13, followed by Monarch Beach on Sunday, August 20. Our website calendar has all the details; www.LA-OrangeCounty.SinglesGolf.com.

As always, we appreciate all the help our members give us in arranging our golf events and parties. Send me your ideas and we will make them happen. Have a  great summer everyone, and come join us for a round of golf in our fabulous Orange County and Los Angeles area.
